Sewing: Sewing Organizer

I tried to sew something a little harder than the items I sewed so far. I took a book by brother bought me for my birthday (about 5 months ago) and I chose to sew a sewing organizer. It wasn't hard, but challenging - cutting the fabric, understanding the instructions...
I like it :-)

What do you say? :-)

New card: Happy New Year

This card was inspired by sketch #47 @ Tuesday Trio. The challenge was : New Year.
I created a layout based on this sketch but I hated it and started all over - and tried to create a card. I love it. Already wrote a greeting to my husband, wishing us a great year!

I used:
Cardstocks, patterned paper, die cut: Doodlebug
Stamp: Fiskars
Ink: Tsukineko Versafine, Ink It Up
Letter Stickers: MLS

Sewing: Tissue Pouch

I followed the tutorial here and sewed this tissue pouch. I gave it to my mother, because she always needs a tissue ever since I remember her (or myself).

New layout: PACS group photo

The picture were taken on the last day of PACS (Paper and Co. Show). In the goodies bag we got on registration, there was this paper mustache. We were supposed to bring it the the forum, for this picture (they also got our picture waving, without the mustaches).

A close up on the 3D butterflies, that pop from some squares. I intensionally placed them above similar parts of paper, so in a specific angle - they disappear...

I used:
Cardstocks: Kraft, DCWV, Sonburn
Ink: Tsukineko Versafine
Pen: Sharpie
Tools: Martha Stewart butterfly punch, unknown flower punch

New layout: PACS

I created this layout as part of the pre-challenges for PACS (Paper and Co. Show) 2010 weekend.
The challenge was:
- Use only the 3 colors of the logo
- Create a title using the 4 letter of PACS (My title is: Playful and Creative Scrapbookers)
- Use a picture of your favorite scrapper (I used the pictures of the teachers of classes I took)
I was very surprised (and complimented) when I heard my name as winner (2nd place) in this challenge!

I used:
Cardstocks: Sonburn
Letter Stickers: ChatterBox (colored with Acrylic Paints)

Sewing: Marker pens roll

Last week I went to build up my confidence (or should I say: try to get my ass kicked!!) - I went to sewing workshop. Since I bought my sewing machine I sewed only few items. I know I want to sew but I have some kind of block. Anyway - I went in order to solve this issue, mostly with myself.
I sewed this roll for marker pens for my daughters (I sewed another one at home, so they both have one). It was a great experience!

Thank you to: Miri for your patience, Maya for hosting the workshop, Karin for coordinating this!

New layout: Christmas

This layout was inspired by Tuesday Trio sketch #46. The challenge was: Christmas. This year I had my first Christmas experience, during PACS (paper and Co. Show). On our second crop night we were asked to come wearing 'Christmas'. Since I don't have anything related, I came with white shirt & red top. Symbolic. I know exactly which picture to adhere to this layout - but it's not printed yet...

I used:
Cardstocks & Rubons: Dear Lizzy + American Crafts
Ink: Ink It Up!
Pen: Sharpie
Tools: Cuttlebug + Spellbinders nestabilities
Other: Grosgrain ribbon, Kars - Glitter Glue

New layout: Smile

I participated in Vicki Boutin's workshop (named: All Squared Up) at PACS. Vicki was very playful and nice (and talks a lot LOL) - it was a fun workshop, I used glitter & flock for the first time, but I don't think I learned anything new.
Anyway - here's my layout - which is very similar to Vicki's example:

I used:
cardstocks, papers, die cuts & stickers: Doodlebug
Tools: Border punch - Fiskars

New layout: Grandpa's Stories

This layout was inspired by sketch #45 @ Tuesday Trio. This week's challenge was 'masculine creation'. I did my best :-) It's hard when you have 2 little girls in the pictures... I chose pictures of my father, reading a story to Yaara & Mor. He visits them (us) every week and he enjoys being close to them. He always tells me he starts to miss them once he's driving back home. He plays with them, read them stories and even babysit them once in a while. So this is my masculine creation:

I used:
Cardstocks & stickers: Sassafras
Alphabet stickers: תוצרת הארץ
Ink: Ink It Up!
Pen: Sharpie

New Chunky page: Sweet recipe swap (2nd page)

This is the second chunky page I created for the "sweet recipes" swap.
This time I chose to design a page for banana split. I LOVE banana split!

I created a chunky pocket, and I put the tags in it. One tag is for the ingredients and the other for the instructions. Very simple but very tasty!!

This is the front:
And the back (nothing special about the back :-()
The front of the tags:
And the back:

I hope Almog (who got my pages) liked them...

PACS 2010 - Team Challenge (Pirate)

On the first crop night the organizers gave a small kit for each team. Since they were dressed as pirates, the challenge wad to use the kit (and nothing more) to create a layout with pirate theme.
I think we cooperated well together. This is the layout we created (we won 2nd place!!):

Sorry for the bad picture - it was taken when the layout was inside a page protector.

And this is the prize each of us won:

New layout: Olive Harvest

This layout was inspired by sketch #44 @ Tuesday Trio. The extra challenge was "circles". The pictures were taken about 2 years ago. The kindergarten's management arranged a picnic for the kids' families. There were few activities, but the big attraction was to harvest olives.
The inspiration for the layout came from Isabelle Gallien's layouts - she taught some classes at PACS and her work is very inspiring!

I used:
Cardstocks: My Little Shoe Box
Stamps: Marmelada
Ink: Tsukineko Versafine
Pen: Sharpie
Tools: Fiskars circle cutter, Stampin' Up circle punch

New Chunky page: Happy Birthday to Tamika14

Last Thursday we celebrated Tamika14 her birthday. It was kind of blind date for me - I never met in person 3 of the other 4 participants - and it was a great evening! Simple & Tasty food, great company and new friends!
Since the scrappy birthday has a chunky book tradition (hopefully I'll have a chunky book too one day <--- CLUE!!) - This is the page I created (note the embroidery of the circles & Mazal Tov):

And this is the back - Many wishes for her birthday (health, happiness, pleasure, satisfaction, love & creativity):
And here's a picture to show you the dimensional work - chunky or not??

I used:
Cardstock: Kraft, DCWV, Sonburn (and other scraps)
Pen: Sharpie
Tools: Stampin' Up! circle punches & Cropodile - for the little circles...

PACS 2010 - Christmas Challenge

On Saturday night we were asked to come with Christmas spirit... Red & white, christmas hats etc... The organizers gave us a small kit for a challenge: create a christmas card, using the kit and/or any other paper & embellishments we want, to fit the given envelope - all in 30 minutes...
I didn't bring my scrapbooking tools that night, so I had to go back to my room, get my tools and come back (so I had less than 30 minutes)...
This is the card I created:
And the inside, after pulling the pear paper to the sides (I'm not sure if the picture is clear - but it's like a box):

We don't know who will get our card - but I hope she likes it!
I appreciate your comments :-)

PACS 2010 - Team challenge - Chunky Book

When we prepared our team challenge for PACS, we suggested to create a chunky book - in order to have a special memory from the team challenge. Everyone should have made 5 chunky pages, so all team members will have one from each.

This is the chunky page I made:

I used:
Cardstocks: Kraft, Sonburn
Stamps: Unity, JustRite
Ink: StazOn
Tools: Fiskars border punch, Tim Holtz distress tool
Pen: Sharpie
Other: buttons, brad, thread

PACS 2010 - Team challenge - Totem

We're back.
The PACS convention was a GREAT experience for me. I loved few workshops - I learned new things and tried different techniques. Few workshops were nice & fun, but I didn't learn anything new and 1 workshop was terrible! But it was 1 out of 12, so it'
s not that bad.

Anyway - this is our centerpiece for the team challenge. We didn't win a prize, but it was fun to make, especially considering the fact that all the pieces came from 3 different countries, all had to fly to France...
We chose to be "the scrap fairies". We wore pink wings, crown & wand...

These pictures were taken at the morning after the crop night, when we put it all together:

Close up to the fairy house door:
Many people complimented us for our work (and some even asked us how come we didn't win). It was fun!

I appreciate your comments!

Chunky Book - Keren

Keren celebrated her birthday in a scrappy way. It's the first scrappy-birthday I have invited to, but I couldn't participate. The birthday was on Wednesday evening, and few hours later I had a flight to Paris, for the PACS scrapbooking convention.

Anyway, as part of the scrappy birthday - all the participants were supposed to create a chunky page. This is the page I made:
The front - spin wheel with cupcakes images

The back (it was planned to be the front, but I didn't notice the direction - Hebrew is opened from right to left and this is left opening, so it had to be the back): paper piecing cupcakes, some are 3D:
Close up on the 3d elements:
And when you open you discover a pop-up cupcake and the greeting:
View from above:

It was very fun to make - I used many techniques and I just hope she liked it!

I used:
Cardstocks: Kraft, Sonburn, DCWV & many scraps for the cupcakes paper piecing
Stamps: Unity, Image Tree
Ink: StazOn, Marmelada
Lace trim

Team Challenge (fairies) - PACS 2010

Here are 5 fairies I created for the team challenge @ PACS. I punched flowers and attached them to this foam fairy. It took some time, but 5 fairies are ready to travel to France...

And all of them together:

I used: Sonburn cardstock

Team Challenge (Weather Vanes) - PACS 2010

Another decoration I made for the team challenge was weather vanes. Each is made from 6X6 paper, cut with shaped scissors, attached with brad to a drinking straw...

I used Sonburn cardstock

Team challenge (names) - PACS 2010

I guess there will be few posts about my creations for the team challenge @ PACS. The challenge was to form group of 5, to create a team; Find a name (The fairy scrappers) & make a totem for the center of the table at the big crop room. The challenge takes place on Friday night (I guess that when this post is being published).
Our team members are Yafit (which doesn't have a blog - my partner from Israel), Roula & Katerina (from Greece) & Sarah (from England).
We decided that Roula & Katerina will make the centerpiece and each creation we make for this evening, we'll do 5 times, so by the end of this crazy experience we all end up with all the creations.
The first thing I made was signs with our names. It measures about 6" (not including the thread above and below - with the beads):

I'll post more creations I make for this event, and when I'm home - I'll publish our whole table. I'm curious what we'll end up with (and what other teams will do).

I used: Cuttlebug & Nestabilities, JustRite Stampers & other unidentified: doilly, lace, felt...
